Welcome, I’m Rina!
I guide parents of elementary school children who have a struggling reader how to get the help they need so they can excel academically and personally.
I’m not the kind of reading interventionist that just focuses on a dyslexia diagnosis. I’m all about getting to the root of the problem and creating an individualized plan of action to improve the child’s reading skills AND their confidence.
You’re here because you’re looking for answers.
You’re done taking your child to a million tutors who know very little about working with struggling readers.
You’re tired of patiently waiting for your child’s reading to finally ‘click.’
And even after giving your child lots of extra time to ‘catch up,’ you still see them frustrated and struggling.
I’m passionate about supporting parents through the process of dyslexia assessment so their child can get the help they need to reach their full potential.
You don’t have to go at it alone.
I developed an appreciation for learning differences when my son was diagnosed with dyslexia at age eight. Despite being a seasoned educator at the time, I did not understand the unique mind of a dyslexic reader and how they learned best.
It wasn’t until I received extensive training in the Orton Gillingham method, did I learn the ways to help struggling readers bloom. I have now watched my son, as well as hundreds of my students, grow and flourish over the years.
I truly understand the trials that students, and their families, will encounter while managing reading challenges. As a result, I have developed a system for success based on the science of reading.
I am a Certified Educational Therapist, National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy, and a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.
I am deeply committed to bringing my knowledge, credentials and expertise to my clients and to my work. But even more, I vow to bring my care, compassion and empathy as a fellow parent of a struggling reader.
I’m on a mission… my work won’t end until all children can read!
Facts About Reading
Learning to read is not a natural process for the brain. Written language is a code that must be cracked.
Approximately 1 in 5 children in the United States have dyslexia, ranging from mild to severe.
95% of students can learn to read in the average range if provided with early and systematic reading instruction.
